Guest Speaker at Hearsay Social HQ: Roberta Kaplan visits on one-year anniversary of historic SCOTUS decision

The Hearsay Social team was honored and excited to welcome Robbie Kaplan to our offices yesterday, on the eve of Pride Weekend and one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to overturn section 3 of DOMA.

In our fireside chat together, Robbie shared her remarkable story of how she went from corporate litigator to arguing Windsor vs. United States in front of the Supreme Court in one of the most important civil rights cases of our time. Robbie talked about the personal significance the case has had on her own marriage and family and what we can all do to encourage a more fair and diverse society.

To introduce her talk, we showed this great MAKERS video, which is a great background piece on Robbie and her plaintiff, Edie Windsor.

My team and I were truly inspired by Robbie and Edie’s story, and honored to host Robbie as our guest. Here’s to wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Pride Weekend with plenty to celebrate this year.
