Jelastic, Inc., the company behind the ultra scalable and interoperable cloud hosting Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for Java and PHP applications, announces the release of its plugin for IntelliJ IDEA, one of the most popular Java IDEs.

JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA, also referred to as “the most intelligent Java IDE”, features smart code completion, easier multi-language editing and a flexible cross-platform UI. With the Jelastic plugin, developers conveniently manage environments and deploy apps from the IDE, without having switching to a browser, resulting in significant time-savings.

"Jelastic is all about empowering developers and making hosting easy. With the Jelastic plugin, IDEA users can work with their development, test and production deployments without leaving their favorite Java IDE,” said Jelastic COO Dmitry Sotnikov. “We are extremely excited about IntelliJ IDEA 12 release and proud to be a part of the IntelliJ IDEA family."

Key features of the Jelastic plugin for IntelliJ IDEA:

- Ability to work with different hosting providers;
- Ability to deploy and redeploy applications;
- Ability to view and manage user environments;
- Ability to view logs (full logs and tail logs).

"In IntelliJ IDEA 12 we have taken our first steps toward supporting deployment tools for clouds,” said Andrey Chepstov, IntelliJ IDEA product marketing manager. “Of course we welcome the authors of Jelastic, a Duke's Choice Award winning platform, to contribute to the IntelliJ IDEA plug-in ecosystem."

Jelastic’s plugin can be installed automatically from IntelliJ IDEA plugin repositories. Learn more in Jelastic’s documentation: http://jelastic.com/docs/idea-plugin. Jelastic also integrates with build systems such as Maven, Ant, Hudson and Jenkins, as well as the Eclipse IDE. Plugins for other widely used IDEs will be available soon.
