Introduction
1 Introduction
This manual is written for merchants and developers who implement and use the Click&Buy system
and now want to get an overview of all available functionalities in the merchant service area.
Structure of this Documentation:
This manual is structured according to your service area. All functionalities are described with
screenshots. Most of the time the displayed screenshots refer to the service area of premium ac-
counts. The service area of basic accounts may differ to a certain extend. Some parts and functions
are only available for premium accounts and these are flagged with this icon:
Paths are illustrated in this manual like this: >>path>>this way
Buttons that you can (or should) click are illustrated like this: [-> click here].
All figures are listed together in the table of figures. If you are looking for a particular screenshot or
diagram, you can do so directly in this table.
The glossary included in this manual provides you with clear and concise descriptions of the most
important terms.
More detailled information about single functions like e.g. subscriptions, the Event Messaging Service,
etc. can be found in so-called module manuals. The module manuals are available separately or as a
combined "Click&Buy Module Descriptions" manual. Please contact your account manager to receive
those. References to these manuals are flagged accordingly.
In conclusion:
A manual is only useful to the extent that it is up to date. We therefore ask for your active support
in this respect. Should you find any errors in it, or if there are process flows that have changed since
its release, please let us know.
Byung-Jun Park (byung-jun.park@firstgate.de) will be grateful for any and all comments.
We hope you enjoy this new manual, and hope it helps you achieve your goals!

The Principle Behind Click&Buy
2 The Principle Behind Click&Buy
Click&Buy is a comfortable payment solution for internet purchases. Users only need to register
once with Click&Buy; after registration they can simply and easily purchase access to the premium
content and services offered on the Internet by you and other merchants.
For you as merchant of digital content as well as goods distributed over the internet, Click&Buy offers
a comprehensive solution for billing your offer which is as simple as efficient. This makes it an ideal
solution for conveniently making money on the Internet.
The all-encompassing Click&Buy solution largely outperforms pure billing systems covering just the
basic "purchase recording - billing - payment collection" service.
Prior to the actual sale, the functionality of the Click&Buy system enables you to price your offers in
a professional way. It provides offer administration and access control methods that exactly match
your requirements, along with the ability to incorporate affiliate relationships to increase user
numbers. The sophisticated billing logic allows to settle purchase transactions per time, per
transaction, or periodically, i.e. on the basis of subscriptions.
You will not need to take care of billing and money collection for every purchase transaction. The
Click&Buy solution covers the complete billing and administration process, and includes a multilingual
customer care to facilitate customer communication.
A fully-integrated credit rating system combined with a wide range of state-of-the-art review
procedures and other security features prevent potential misuse and reduce the number of payment
failures to a minimum.
The Click&Buy solution provides comprehensive means to view and administer any and all data be it
regarding your Click&Buy merchant account, your payment preferences, your revenues or your
relationships and customers.
Short-spoken:
The all-encompassing Click&Buy system offers you all the functionality you need for internet
business.

Offer Administration
5 Offer Administration
In the following chapters it is described how to price your products, manage access rights and use
other functions to promote sales.
5.1 Offer Administration - Pricing Your Offers
Only two steps are required to price your offer:
· Create a domain (cf. section 5.2, page 15)
· Set up a Click&Buy link (cf. section 5.3, page 22)
Creating a domain is comparable to setting up a virtual shop. Here you make available all the principal
information for your shop, such as address, company logo, your Terms and Conditions, etc. In
addition to providing a central location for information, the domain is also used to allocate sales to
a shop: Your sales are grouped by domain in your sales statistics and on your billing slip.
The actual pricing of your offers is done by setting up a so-called Click&Buy link, which is created
within a domain. Depending on the type of offer, there are different types of links used for pricing,
as briefly described below:
· Click&Buy Link (cf. section 5.1.1, page 12)
· Click&Buy Transaction Link (cf. section 5.1.2, page 12)

· Click&Buy Easy Collect Link (cf. section 5.1.4, page 13)
· Click&Buy Donation Link (cf. section 5.1.5, page 14)
Merchants with basic accounts are only able to use Click&Buy links. The implementation of these
Note
links is described in the following chapters. For the usage of all other link types there are module
manuals available, but only for merchants with premium accounts. To receive these manuals please
contact your account manager or your account support manager.
5.1.1 Click&Buy Link
The Click&Buy Link is the simplest and quickest way to price offers. A session management is
integrated into the use of this link. In addition to pure pricing, this allows you to manage access to
your digital content and services in a timely manner.
5.1.2 Click&Buy Transaction Link
The Click&Buy transaction system offers the means to perform transaction-based purchases.
Always use the transaction system in the following cases:
· You are a merchant and administer your users (or individual data relating to your users) by
yourself.
· You use a shopping cart feature.
· Purchases are also made using non-PC media
(e.g. when purchasing ring tones or logos for a cell phone).
· Control of access to the content offered is generally not to be exercised using Click&Buy.

You can find further information about this topic in the module manual "Transaction Systems"
respectively in the "Click&Buy Module Descriptions" manual in the chapter "Transaction Systems".
5.1.3 Click&Buy Subscription Link
The subscription feature enables you as merchant to offer your digital content and services for
repeated use. Your customer will be debited automatically at certain times, depending on the
determined subscription duration and settlement interval.
For the duration of his subscription your customer has unlimited access to the subscription-related
content or to a defined number of services.
The subscription feature can be used in many different ways:
Apart from the classical subscriptions for access to digital contents you can also offer subscriptions
for various services and thus create additional purchase incentives. As an example, merchants for
music downloads can offer a special subscription for frequent customers which enables them to
download a specified amount of music data for a fixed monthly price. Subscriptions for community
memberships or chat services can also be easily set up and debited for using this feature.
As part of the subscription feature are available other useful features:
· Integrated group feature
· Import interface for external IDs
· Internationalization of the offer texts
· Subscription Content Administrator
You can find further information about this topic in the module manual "Subscriptions" respectively
in the "Click&Buy Module Descriptions" manual in the chapter "Subscriptions".
5.1.4 Click&Buy Easy Collect Link
The use of a so-called Easy Collect Link enables you to bill a customer at the time of his/her
interaction. The amount to be invoiced depends on the price of the offer. To invoice a certain price
only after the offer has been used, the user issues you an Easy Collect authorization before the offer
is used. When he/she issues you a an Easy Collect authorization, the user agrees to allow you, as
provider, to charge his/her Click&Buy account at a later time. Click&Buy sets limits on the maximum
amount a supplier can charge an account on a daily basis.
An additional advantage of this feature is the ability to make certain offers available offline as well.
Take as an example a Click&Buy customer who would like to use the service of a call center (e.g.,
legal advice). He calls the service number and gets authorization from a call center agent with his
Click&Buy user name. Now he can issue an Easy Collect authorization by entering his zip code, which
is required for security reasons. To do this, the call center agent calls up a special Click&Buy
authorization page and enters the corresponding data. After the Easy Collect authorization has been
set up in this way, the customer can use the service and the call center agent can enter the amount
to be invoiced in a special payment page.
You can find further information about this topic in the module manual "Easy Collect/ Transaction

Manager" respectively in the All-In-One Module Manual in the chapter "Easy Collect/ Transaction
Manager". For Easy Collect based transactions, there is also a SOAP interface available which is
described in the "Easy Collect/ Transaction Manager via SOAP" manual respectively in the chapter
"Easy Collect/ Transaction Manager via SOAP" in the "Click&Buy Module Descriptions" manual.
5.1.5 Click&Buy Donation Link
Is yours a non-profit institution, or do you support charitable projects and do you therefore depend
on donations?
If so, the Click&Buy Donations feature makes it very simple for you to collect donations from your
users. Once you have set up a donation link with us, your users can donate to your cause in a non-
bureaucratic fashion using this link. Donations are then debited automatically using the Click&Buy
customer billing feature, making this a convenient and attractive solution for the user also.
This feature can only be set up by the account support. For further information, please contact your
Account Support Manager.
