sudo port install ruby
sudo port install rb-rubygems
sudo gem install rails --include-dependencies
sudo ln /opt/local/bin/ruby /usr/local/bin/ruby

Update darwinports

or, if you didn't get the source from CVS:

sudo port -d selfupdate
